Homeowners Go Green To Save Some Green, an article from The Wall Street Journal Online, reports that lenders are the latest to jump on the environmental-marketing bandwagon. They are offering mortgage products that offer homebuyers bigger loans or discounts if they are making energy-efficient improvements or if their new home meets certain efficiency standards. Some states are also subsidizing loans for energy-efficient improvements. The mortgage products also offer incentive to builders to build "green", or Energy Star certified homes. Banks are also offering similar loans to builders.
