Boulder County approves plan to buy Weld conservation easements
Boulder County approves plan to buy Weld conservation easements, an article from The Longmont Daily Times-Call, reports that commissioners have approved a restructured plan for Boulder County's $1.5 million purchases of conservation easements to prevent future development on about 259 acres of land along Boulder Creek in Weld County. The owner of the property had originally planned to develop 36 homes on the property and had the town of Frederick's approval. The family later approached Boulder County about ways to preserve most of the land. Money for the purchases will come from the county's Conservation Trust Fund rather than Boulder County's open space sales tax.
