No recession ahead for Colorado, an article from The Denver Post, reports that Richard Wobbekind, an economist with Leeds School of Business, predicted Colorado shouldn't slip into a recession next year even if the rest of the country does. He told an audience at the 2008 Colorado Business Economic Outlook, "Continued, moderate growth is on tap for the state. Colorado will definitely not enter a recession." He said the state should add 43,300 jobs next year, representing a 1.9% increase in job growth. Growth will be limited in the financial services sector, which includes most real-estate and mortgage-lending jobs. Due to commercial and infrastructure development picking up the slack of declining home construction, the value of all construction in the state is expected to rise to $12.5 billion. http://www.denverpost.com/business/ci_7686780
